BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT - Strategic Planning
Shaping and leading strategic reflection and planning processes remains an essential task of senior management in every self-respecting organization. Strategic questions are essential to ascertain organizational relevance and sustainability. Do you regularly ask yourself and the organization what to do, or even what not to do? This workshop will focus on all the necessary concepts of strategic thinking and planning with a special emphasis on the design and management of a comprehensive strategic planning process, including the key steps of envisioning, context and capacity assessment. All the steps needed to formulate a complete mission (including core service / target group selection) will be covered. It will shed light on the essential documentation as well as documenting the outcomes of strategic planning processes in a public strategic planning document.
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-Identify strategic thinking and planning in current development context
-Develop a Conceptual Framework including matching ambitions with needs and abilities
-Identify the elements of a strategic planning document (vision, mission and development priorities)
-Design a strategic planning process
-Identify the comparative advantages of a context assessment
-Define core service and target group matrix
-Formulate and use a strategic planning document
-A senior manager or an organization adviser (or aspiring to be) engaged in the design, facilitation or leading of strategic planning processes
-Those eager to learn about methods and tools whilst honing their skills to approach strategic planning in a systematic and comprehensive manner.
